Site Rules

This page under construction! This page currently under construction!

No, nothing contensious or disciplinarean here, just some plain principles we choose to observe, and ask others using this site to do so too.

Payment Method Details

Our website does NOT retain details e.g. of credit cards or payments made by them. It is our intention to assign any such payment processing ONLY to trusted, secure, third parties, who again will not retain details. Any automatic payment options must be separately set up with ourselves prior to use.

Privacy

Your privacy is very important to us, and we do our best to respect that! If, at any time you have any concerns on this score, please let us know. If you choose to register with this site, we may hold some personal information on you, specifically for the purposes of a) selling & delivering goodies to you, and b) marketting. Note the small "m" in "marketting" - all this means is that if we have your permission, we'll send you updates. We NEVER share this information with other organisations, and NEVER use this information for any other purpose internally. We continue to do our utmost to preserve the privacy of any information we collect from you. This information should also NEVER be shared by us with other registered users of this site - whilst you are welcome to share information with other users, we believe this should be your informed choice, certainly not ours! There should be only one piece of information we would share with other users - your "Public Name" or "Alias". This is why we ask in the Registration form for three names. Certainly, our intention is never to share with other site users:

  • Your name, as recorded for delivery purposes (along with your address).
  • Your email address or login name for this site.
  • Any addresses you give us.
  • Any telephone numbers you give us.

Potential security hole: Postcodes: We also do not intentionally disclose your postcode to other users - one intended piece of functionality yet to come will allow searches for other users within a geograpihical radius, driven by postcodes. With brute force statistical probe approaches, it would in theory be possible to associate a particular public name/alias with their postcode. This functionality would be available ONLY to registered users.

When this functionality becomes available, we will provide a mechanism to allow you NOT to participate in such a search. Our privacy principles require us to set the default to "opt out" of such searches - when available it will be your choice to explicitely enable radius searches on your postcode. More information will be provided at that time.

UK Data Protection Act 1988 & Ammendments

It is our understanding that under current legislation, and with how we use the information you provide, there is no requirement for this data use to be registered with the Information Commissioner for the purposes of this Act. Nevertheless, we attempt to comply with the eight principles recommended. In particular ALL the information (except email logs - see below) we hold about you will be recorded in only one of two places: My Profile and My Orders (functionality not yet implemented). It can be viewed and edited at any time by yourself (you do not have to request a printout from ourselves). Our principles establish that you, as the site user, own & control this information, not us!

Private email

We intend to provide facilities for exchange of emails between registered users. In order to preserve your privacy, all such emails will be routed through this site. Your actual email address will be hidden, and only your public name/alias revealed. This system is not intended to be secure, nor invisible to anyone else, but merely to prevent others discovering personal information about you. However, such an anonymous system might be open to abuse. We will undertake to maintain (for everyone's protection) a simple log of such transactions. This log will contain nothing more than the public name/alias of the sender and recipient, the date and time. It will NOT contain message contents. This log will not normally be visible to you as a registered user. Please contact us if you wish to see a copy.
